Sony® BRAVIA Theater 13 Channel Black Soundbar

Go beyond conventional surround sound. Combining physical and phantom speakers, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 creates a wider surround sound field for outstanding immersion.

Ultimate Surround With 360 Spatial Sound Mapping

Experience the ultimate in home surround. 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology creates 5 phantom speakers in front of you and reflects sound off the ceiling and walls, enabling cinema-style surround sound from a single soundbar.

Now more people can enjoy the same immersive surround experience. By using phantom speakers, 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology achieves wider coverage than conventional virtual surround systems.

Unleash The Full Potential Of 360 Spatial Sound Mapping

Add optional wireless rear speakers for an even more expansive sound stage. Working with the rear speakers, the Bar 9 creates up to 11 phantom speakers, including speakers behind you for that authentic cinema feel.

Bring authentic cinema surround sound quality to your living room. BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 not only supports industry-standard formats including Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X®, but also has IMAX® Enhanced certification.

Sony's new upmixer delivers rich surround sound even from stereo content. Its innovative algorithm extracts and redistributes individual audio objects to immerse you in 3D sound. While upmixing, AI Sound Separation processing detects human voices and makes them sound clearer.

It doesn’t matter which seat you’re in. It doesn’t even matter what your room’s acoustics are like. Sound Field Optimization lets everyone experience movie theatre surround sound.

We’ve made surround sound simple. Sound Field Optimization not only calibrates sound based on speaker position, it also takes your room’s acoustics into account, and your listening position too.

Adding rear speakers? Don’t worry about finding the perfect position. Sound Field Optimization calibrates sound based on their location and uses phantom speakers to fill any gaps in the surround stage.

No need to remodel your home to get movie theater acoustics. Sound Field Optimization analyzes your room's acoustic characteristics, then uses advanced signal processing to overwrite them with those of a movie theater.

Enjoy quality surround sound wherever you're sitting. Just run calibration with our smartphone app, BRAVIA Connect, and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 will detect your position in the room and optimize sound to suit.

Innovative Acoustic Design With 13 Speaker Units

There’s more to great surround sound than signal processing alone. Your physical speakers need to deliver exceptional acoustic performance too – and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 doesn’t disappoint.

Discover clear, wide surround sound from a single soundbar. The Bar 9 features a new 2-way speaker with added tweeters for front and centre, delivering wider surround sound and a precise sound image.

Quad Woofer And Passive Radiators Deliver Deep Bass

Don’t be fooled by the slimline design. Thanks to built-in quad woofers and passive radiators, the Bar 9 generates the type of deep, resonant bass you’d expect from much larger speakers.

Side Speakers And Beam Tweeters For Expansive Sound

For added atmosphere, side speakers fill your living space with wide directional sound while beam tweeters expand the sound stage by reflecting directional high frequency sound off the walls.

Up-firing speakers reflect sound off the ceiling for immersive overhead audio. 360 Spatial Sound Mapping creates phantom ceiling speakers for even more atmospheric sound.

The speakers’ unique rectangular shape maximizes the diaphragm area for punchy bass. It also reduces driver excursion and maintains sound pressure, ensuring less distortion and greater vocal clarity.

Bring the emotion and excitement of a movie theatre home. Pair BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 with a BRAVIA TV for an unmatched audio-visual experience, immersing you in every scene as never before.

Step up to a completely cinematic experience. Acoustic Center Sync enables the Bar 9 to use your compatible BRAVIA as a center speaker. So sound comes from the screen, adjusted as part of one integrated speaker system.

No more muffled voices. Combined with compatible BRAVIA, our new Voice Zoom 3™ powered by AI machine learning recognizes human voices and amplifies or reduces their volume so even faint dialogue sounds loud and clear.

Control surround sound easily with your BRAVIA TV remote. Sound settings automatically appear on the BRAVIA Quick Settings menu for easy control of features, like Sound Field and volume.

Get the most out of all your entertainment. BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 supports the latest audio and visual formats, taking movies, games and music to a whole new level.

With its HDMI 2.1 capability, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 ensures the original picture quality of any source is preserved, right up to 8K HDR.

Lose yourself in gaming. Enjoy immersive overhead sound with the PlayStation®5 console, optimized picture settings by Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode when connecting compatible BRAVIA™ TVs and PS5® console. This product also supports VRR, ALLM and SBTM for more realistic gaming.

Give your music the sound stage it deserves. With BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 it's easy to stream your favorite tracks and enjoy every detail in high-quality upmixed sound.

It's not all about movies. You can also enjoy music in high-quality upmixed sound. Built-in support for Spotify Connect™ and Apple AirPlay lets you play all your favorite tracks.

Stream audio content wirelessly. Bluetooth® technology makes it easy to enjoy music, podcasts and more from your smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Using Edge-AI, DSEE Ultimate™ (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) upscales compressed digital music files in real time, restoring acoustic details for a richer listening experience.

Bring your music to life as never before. Enjoy tracks the way the artists intended with High-Resolution Audio. Or discover 360 Reality Audio for a truly immersive live music experience.

BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 makes surround sound simple. From initial set-up to smartphone control, it's all about minimum effort, maximum enjoyment.

The BRAVIA Connect smartphone app guides you through initial settings, assists with troubleshooting, and lets you control volume, sound field and more. It also notifies you about software updates and lets you control a compatible TV too.

Simply plug in the Bar 9, connect to your TV using HDMI, and power on. With LAN, HDMI IN and HDMI OUT (eARC), you’re all set to enjoy a new spatial surround sound experience.

To help people who are blind or have low vision set up the soundbar, tactile dots indicate a QR code for the BRAVIA Connect app, which offers screen reader support. Tactile dots on the back panel indicate the eARC HDMI terminal for connecting to a TV.

The supplied spacer allows the soundbar to sit tidily over the TV stand for an integrated look that saves you space.

Sony’s home audio products are designed not only for excellent sound experience but also with the environment in mind. We are committed to using less virgin plastic in our products and packaging.
